Our Studio
Silva Martial Arts specializes in Kukkiwon style Taekwondo. Our black belts are certified through Kukkiwon World Headquarters, meaning that a black belt from our school is recognized anywhere in the world. On the path to black belt, we emphasize life skills like discipline, respect, kindness, and self control. Our students know that a martial artist upholds these values in all areas of their life; at school, at home, and at the studio.
Our facility is not just a place to work out. It is a home, and a family as well. We host free holiday parties and events, potlucks, community fundraisers, and more. We are very fortunate to have such a great group of students, and a caring staff!
Style
Taekwondo is an ancient Korean martial art. It is known for it's powerful kicks, and quick striking combinations. However, it is more than just physical skills like kicks, punches, and blocks. Taekwondo is a method of personal development that enhances mental and physical strength, and a lifestyle that helps students build confidence and discipline.
Today Taekwondo is one of the most practiced martial arts in the world. People of ages ranging from 2 to 90 years old practice Taekwondo, and in 2000 it became an official Olympic Sport.
